Melissa Jones of Delphi was named winner of the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs' Rural Matters photo contest in the architecture category for her photo of Adams Mill. Lt. Governor Becky Skillman made the announcement earlier this week. She said photos were judged on creativity, technical quality and effectiveness of conveying the spirit of rural Indiana. Skillman said Jones' work displayed excellent artistic elements and a skilled knowledge of photography, and reflected the "true spirit" of the Rural Matters photo contest. "Each photographer captured the beauty of rural Indiana," Skillman said. Jones and winners from other categories will be recognized by Skillman and the Rural Affairs Office at the Community Focus Fund award ceremony June 30 at 1 p.m. at the State House in Indianapolis. The winning photos will be on display to the public in the North Atrium of the State House from June 27 until July 7. Photo provided
