Do you think a consolidation of the Carroll andDelphi school districts is inevitable? 50% Yes 42% No 08% Don't know Total responses: 199 Reader's comments:
If the Governor gets his way, then the only way it may be workable is if the corners of the county are split off and sent to school districts in other counties, i.e.. northwest goes to the closest White County school, northeast to a Cass County school, southeast to a Howard County school, and southwest area to a Clinton County school, possibly Rossville, and the south central county students being sent to a different Clinton County school, possibly Frankfort. All this is dependent on distance and busing constraints. This will leave central Carroll County students to be assigned to a "new" location somewhere in a central location, providing there are enough students left for the "new" school. This reminds me of the old political "arguments" of the original consolidation era from the late '50s and early '60s. Do we really want to go through that again? It seems to me that other states have gone this way, and are changing back to smaller, better education facilities.

I believe that consolidation will be forced upon each corporation from the state of Indiana. It will be interesting if past hard feelings between the corporations can be overcome.
