A letter was sent to all the councilmembers and the Mayor from Lewis Davis, Vice President of U.S. Aggregates. The letter requested that the Council accept the gift of the well in order for contracts to be drawn up to finalize the agreement. It stated that U.S. Aggregates is prepared to gift the City the use of the new well and access to it, along with the cost of connecting the well to the City water system. If the well was accepted by the city the total cost of the new water system would be reduced.
Camden Volunteer Fire Department was called to the scene of a fire at Yeager & Sullivan's Futurama Hog Building #2 Sunday night. Flora, Delphi, Cutler and individuals from Rockfield fire departments also assisted.
When firemen arrived, flames were shooting out of the south end of the building. The fire is believed to have started with wiring in the attic.
Although the upper part of the building was destroyed, the equipment and all but three out of 1,000 hogs were saved.

Mr. L.C. Dartron, the new chef at the New Crosby hotel, is one of the most noted cooks in these parts. For several years he was employed in the same position at the Columbia Club and Lincoln hotel in Indianapolis and the Gibson hotel in Cincinnati, Ohio, and the Barnes hotel in Logansport.
It's his experience that the New Crosby hotel is able to give the public a fine luncheon for 25 cents and a good dinner for 35 cents everyday except Sunday when the special dinner served will be 50 cents. It is these new prices that are making this big newly furnished redecorated hotel and café come to the front and will help make Delphi a good place for tourists and citizens to eat at all times.

Flora is getting the automobile fever in a way that, if it does not subside before the season closes, will no doubt threaten to exterminate the horse. R.R. Penn, agent for the Buick car, reports business is very good, having sold a number of fine machines this season, mostly to people in Flora.
Penn also owns a new five passenger car of the same manufacturer, which makes six Buicks in Flora. Mr. Penn has also sold two second hand cars this season.
The Buick cars sold by Mr. Penn in this city have not caused one minute's trouble and the owners are more than pleased with them. The cars were all driven by Mr. Penn from Chicago, through eight miles of bad roads through the Kankakee marshes, and not a wrench was used on them during any of the trips, one car coming through on seven gallons of gasoline. The company is building 50 cars a day and are behind with orders.
