Carroll wins stock market competition
      For the fifth year in a row, Carroll Elementary has won the statewide Stock Market Game competition in the elementary division. Carroll had three teams in the top 10 - capturing first, third, and seventh places. Playing the stock market computer game is part of a 10- week project in Mike Hyman's fifth grade math class. There's a new competition for each semester.

Carroll math team wins championship
      For the 10th straight year, Carroll Jr.-Sr. High School's math team has won the Hoosier Heartland Conference math contest. Carroll won the championship title on April 29 with a score of 1,233. Second place winner was Tri-Central with a score of 1,004.

      SCOTT MANNING received a Master of Business Administration degree in accounting from Indiana University - Bloomington on May 3. His Master's major was Assurance Risk Management. He will soon complete the CPA exam and begin employment as an audit associate with KPMG in Indianapolis in August. Manning is a 2003 graduate of Carroll Jr.-Sr. High School.

Carroll students roll up their sleeves over spring break
      A group of Carroll Jr.-Sr. High School students and five adults went to Covington, La., over spring break to do construction work on houses for victims of hurricane Katrina. They worked on four houses, all on the same street. The Carroll group split up and worked on several different tasks in new construction. They put up siding, did roofing, and other miscellaneous work.
