The closing of the Camden branch of Salin Bank and Trust Company will end a long banking tradition at that location.
The Camden Bank, a private bank, was organized in 1870.
The bank received a charter as a state bank in 1919.
The Salin family purchased the bank in 1986. The name was changed to Salin Bank and Trust.
The bank at the Camden location is closing because most of those who originally opened accounts at Camden are now banking at other Salin branches.
There are no immediate plans for the building. Salin has offered to give the building to the Town of Camden, with certain stipulations, but an agreement has not been reached
When the bank closes, Camden will be without its own bank for the first time in 128 years.

The familiar musical "number please" of the Delphi telephone girls may give way to modern progress if plans to convert to a dial system, now in progress, are completed. Public service commission approval must be secured and details worked out and these are expected to be completed soon. Installation of the service will take about a year.
It's taxpaying time again, and a good many Carroll county folks chose Monday as the day to check in with the county tax office. County Treasurer Robert Ferrier reports that the total tax receipts for April 7 amounted to $19,937.51. Even tax expert Ferrier was impressed with this sizable amount. To quote Mr. Ferrier, "It was an outstanding day!"

It is doubtful if there is another city in the state no larger than Delphi where you can find three all night garages, two cafes and one hotel ready to serve the public twenty-four hours daily. That's what Delphi has at this time and the tourists heading for the lakes and Tippecanoe River points northwest of this city are going to be taken care of at all greatly reduced rates than formerly.

A reception was given at the home of Mr. and Mrs. R.D. Voorhees by the Junior class of the Flora high school in honor of the Seniors. It was the most elaborate and up-to-date ever given in this city. Music was rendered by the Misses Gladys Voorhees, Dollis Moss and Charles Steckel. Supper was served in six courses during which Miss Beth Sines furnished music on the piano. After supper toasts were read and enjoyed. All departed saying they had been royally entertained.
