County's disaster recovery center is closing
The state/federal Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) in Carroll County will shut down at close of business Friday. The White County DRC will transition on Saturday into a U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Disaster Loan Outreach Center (DLOC), federal and state disaster officials.
Individuals with SBA questions may call the SBA Customer Service Center at 1-800-659-2955 or TTY 1- 800-877-8339 or visit SBA's Web site www.sba.gov. Help from SBA may also be obtained by visiting the Disaster Loan Outreach Center (DLOC) at the White County EMA Office, 315 N. Illinois St., Monticello, IN 47960, through April 3. Hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday - Friday; Saturday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Applicants can continue to reach federal recovery experts online at www.fema.gov or by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or TTY 1-800-462-7585 for the speech and hearing impaired. Both lines are operational from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily.
March 31 is the last day applications will be accepted for Individual Assistance. Loan applications to the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) for disaster related losses to real and personal property also must be submitted by that date.
SBA representatives will provide White County homeowners, renters and business owners with personal assistance in completing their loan applications, answering questions about SBA's loan program and explaining how an SBA loan can help pay for their disaster losses.
