Tri Kappa
      The Associate Chapter of Tri Kappa met for lunch and a business meeting March 11 at Delphi First Presbyterian Church. Theme for the month was kindness, tenderness and sympathy. The meeting was conducted by Marjory Clifford. Active Chapter member Carolyn Wood conducted a memorial service in honor of Mary Ellen Campbell.

      At last Wednesday's Flora Senior Citizens lunch, Flora Town Council President Josh Ayres and Clerk-Treasurer Joretta Tinsman spoke to the group about a televised report that the center may be closing.

      THE MODERN'S EXTENSION HOMEMAKERS CLUB will meet March 27 at 11:30 a.m. at Solomon's Grille in Delphi. Hostess will be Ruth Anderson. Delphi Tri Kappa will host a LADIES AND CHILDRENS STYLE SHOW April 13 at the Wabash & Erie Canal Interpretive Center on N. Washington Street. The style show will begin at 2:30 p.m. with ladies apparel by Grapevine Boutique.

      TIMOTHY SLEDD was sworn in as a Lawrence County Juvenile Court Referee Feb. 1 in Bedford. He will hear protective order, paternity, juvenile delinquency, juvenile status, child support and Child in Need of Services cases. Sledd is a 1996 graduate of Delphi Community High School. He is the son of Clay and Marcia Sledd of Delphi.

Four generations revisit area roots
      Carroll County Historical Museum received visitors from Mulberry and Texas on March 18. They were descendents of Peter Ruch, who owned the prairie schooner that is housed in the museum. Ruch came to Clinton County on the schooner in 1853 from Lehigh County in Pennsylvania.

Camden
      Camden First Baptist Church will kick-off its 175th anniversary celebration at Sunday morning worship starting at 9:30. Guest speaker will be Dr. Larry Mason, executive minister of the American Baptist Church of Indiana and Kentucky. A noon meal will follow worship and Sunday School. Historical pictures and presentations from the past 175 years will be on display.

Evans is promoted to Eagle Scout
      Shane Evans of Delphi was awarded the honorable rank of Eagle Scout during a recent Boy Scout Court of Honor with troop 155. Scoutmaster Kenneth Roswarski made the presentation. Evans received his rank in December after meeting with the Eagle board of review.

      Delphi Public April starts off with a bang and a boom with "Fun Books with a Beat." Children's librarian Marcia Sledd has rhythm books, games songs to share for the story time theme for the week of April 1. Celebrate National Library Week with a Family Fun Story Hour, April 15, 7 to 8 p.m. The special event is scheduled for Celebrate Books.
