Senior movie days resume
      Area IV Agency on Aging and Community Action Programs, Arnett Gold and Secure Horizons Hippensteel Funeral Service and Crematory and Rosewalk Commons will resume "Wacky Wednesday" Senior Movie Days beginning March 12. This month's movie is "Music and Lyrics.

Serious crash on SR25
      Carroll County Sheriffs Department is investigating a one-vehicle personal injury crash on SR25 south of Delphi. A vehicle driven by Michael Yates, 27, Flora, while passing two cars traveling south, struck a patch of black ice, lost control, went off the road and struck a utility pole.

SBA deadline to apply for physical damage disaster loans is March 31
      The U.S. Small Business Administration is reminding homeowners, renters, businesses and non-profit organizations just over three weeks remain to submit disaster loan applications for damage caused by severe storms and flooding that began Jan. 7 and continuing. The deadline to file an application for physical damage is March 31.

Grissom Reserve AFB tips a wing to general aviation
Local pilots soon to land and park at historic airbase
      Established July 1, 1942, and called "Bunker Hill Naval Air Station," the Grissom Air Force Reserve Command is located near Peru. The base was originally named for Indiana native Virgil "Gus" Grissom who, educated at Purdue University, was one of America's original seven astronauts who perished in a fire in the Apollo capsule at Cape Kennedy, Fla., in the early 1960s.

Correction
      In last week's front page story about the Carroll County Commissioners and the appointment of a zoning administrator, the first names of three individuals were omitted. Kathy Mylet is the new zoning administrator, named to replace current administrator Dale Huffer. Hylton is commissioner Loren Hylton.

Delphi airport gets new board member
      Some residents might be surprised to know that the city of Delphi owns and operates a general aviation airport on Division Line Rd., approximately three miles south of town. It receives tax money to operate and generates income by offering a variety of services to general aviation pilots.

Easter Egg Hunt in Delphi to feature hat/bonnet parade
      The lovable and charismatic Easter Bunny is coming soon to Carroll County. He is expected to arrive at the courthouse March 22 at 11 a.m. in anticipation of the annual Easter Egg Hunt sponsored by Prevent Child Abuse Carroll County and held in Delphi.

Flora egg hunt is Saturday
      An Easter Egg Hunt will be held in Flora at the park at 1 p.m. Saturday. There will be three age groups - 2 and 3; 4, 5, and 6; and 7, 8, and 9 - and the Easter bunny will be present and available for pictures.

Walk runs its course, but message carries on
      A familiar local campaign against cancer has hosted its last walker, but its founder still carries on a message of awareness. The Cheryl Miller 5K Walk for Ovarian Cancer raised over $50,000 and educated many during its five years in existence.

      The Indiana Soybean Alliance (ISA) is partnering with the Conservation Technology Information Center (CTIC) in West Lafayette, and The Fertilizer Institute (TFI) in Washington, D.C., to conduct a second Best Management Practices (BMPs) survey specific to Indiana farms.

Carroll pursues writing improvement
      Carroll Jr.-Sr. High School principal Charles Huckstep presented his building's School Improvement Plan at the Carroll School Board meeting March 4. Huckstep said a three-year plan is required by the state. For the years 2008, 2009, and 2010, the plan emphasizes improving student writing skills in all subject areas.

DCSC board tunes into music department needs
      A decision made by the Delphi Community School Corporation Board of Trustees during its regular meeting Monday night was music to the ears of the high school band and choral directors. New risers were purchased and the school's music department was provided funding.
