Ann M. Baker
Ann M. Lawson Baker, 86, formerly of Camden Senior Apartments, passed away Feb. 25, 2008, at 2 p.m. at St. Anne Home in Fort Wayne. She had been living there since 2002.
She was born Aug. 21, 1921, in Willamsburg, Ky., to Ambrose and Mary Lamdin Lawson. Her marriage was to Benjamin H. Baker in Tennessee on May 19, 1948, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 27, 1987.
Mrs. Baker attended school in Williamsburg. She was a homemaker and helped on the family farm in northern Carroll County. She moved from the farm to Camden in 1989.
She was a member of Hickory Grove Church and also attended services at St. Anne Home. She enjoyed gardening and raising flowers.
Surviving are a sister, Pauline Benjamin of Indianapolis; three grandchildren, Angel Hicks (husband: Pierre) and Richard "Robb" Heath, all of Fort Wayne, and Scott Heath (wife: Vickie) of Etna; eight great-grandchildren, Michelle, Charles, Ariel, Sara, Tricia, Joe, Josh and Denzel; and two great-great-grandchildren, Alek and Xavier.
Friends may call Feb. 28 at 10 a.m. at Abbott Funeral Home in Delphi until funeral services at 11. Rev. Ed Selvidge will officiate. Burial will be at Hickory Grove Cemetery in rural Carroll County.
