Roberson 50th anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Tim Roberson celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Jan. 26.
Roberson and the former Ruby M. Cripe were married in 1957 at the Camden First Baptist Church.
They both graduated from Camden High School - Tim in 1954 and Ruby in 1957. After graduation, he served four years in the United States Air Force, then worked in Camden at the Camden Elevator and Yerkes Trucking. He retired from Chrysler in Kokomo in 1991.
After graduation, Ruby worked for Camden Elevator, Kerlin Feed Mill and was a stay-at-home mom until she opened Roberson Upholstery Shop in 1972 with her motherin law, Esther Roberson. Ruby took sole ownership in 1985. She also worked at The Camden State Bank.
The Robersons still operate Roberson Upholstery Shop & Roberson Caning. They also are managers of Camden's Senior Citizen Housing.
They have two daughters, Terry Roberson-Jomini (husband: Patrick) of Melbourne, Australia, and Peggy King (husband: Jim) of Avon, and six grandchildren.
The Robersons will be honored at an open house in April.
