Red Cross emergency shelter to open today in Delphi

Flooding along the Tippecanoe River today is forcing evacuations in Carroll County. The Tippecanoe County Chapter of the American Red Cross is opening an emergency shelter for residents affected by the flooding. Red Cross disaster volunteers are in the process of opening a shelter at the First Presbyterian Church in Delphi at 213 S. Indiana St. This shelter should be operational by noon today. Emergency aid and assistance, along with food and supplies, will be made available to flood victims at this shelter. Residents who need assistance evacuating their homes should call 911. Those in need of flood recovery assistance can call 1-866-GETINFO (1-866-438-4636) for help. Residents affected by the flood are also encouraged to register with the Indiana Department of Homeland Security at 1-866-210-1925 on Monday-Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
