Colleen Jeanette Forrest, 74 of Talcott, W. Va., died Jan. 19, 2008, after battling cancer for the past 12 months.

Born March 8, 1933, near Battle Ground, she was the daughter of Elmer F. Johnson Sr. and Georgia B. "Pittser" Dunk.

She was employed for several years at Amelia Island Plantation, Fernandina Beach, Fla.

Surviving are four daughters, Carolyn Curnett of Talcott, Connie Cruz of Hinton, W. Va., Marilyn Eby of Calahan, Fla, and Bonnie Lou Lee of Yulee, Fla.; two sons, Don Collins of Rockfield and John Slay of Littleville, Ala.; two brothers, Charles T. Johnson of Rockfield and Harold Eugene Johnson of Folkston, Ga.; one sister, Sharon Lee Cook of Jumping Branch, W. Va.; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Her ashes will be placed at Maple Lawn Cemetery at 2 p.m. Friday.
