Burlington officials approve salary ordinances Burlington Town Council passed two salary ordinances at its last regular meeting of the year on Dec. 12. Clerk-Treasurer Tammy Dyer read by title only the Wastewater Salary Ordinance 2007-4. The ordinance was approved on second reading. Dyer also read by title only the Town Salary Ordinance 2007-5. President Bob Davis said that the town marshal's salary had been increased approximately 5%, which is still under the officers' annual salary of nearby towns. This ordinance was passed on second reading. Davis complimented Kevin Hammond for doing a good job as deputy marshal and for the good working relationship between the town and county. In his last meeting as a town councilman, Davis commended the council for its service the last four years, despite difficult times, and expressed appreciation for many good things accomplished. Dyer expressed her appreciation to the council for its support and to Burlington residents for allowing her to serve the past five years. She expressed pride in her accomplishments, including modernizing the office, her dedication, and leaving the office in better condition than when she started. |
