Oracle wrestlers improve to 12-4

Delphi's wrestling team went 4-1 on the day in a dual tournament at Logansport. The Oracles raised their dual meet record to 12-4.

Delphi lost the opening round to Peru 36-30. They then defeated Benton Central 53-20, Culver Academies 52- 16, Fort Wayne South Side 64- 6 and Logansport 47-17.

Undefeated for the day were: 112 lbs. Bob Floyd, 119 Donovan Alderman, and 160 Braden Atwood. At 285 lbs. Casey Penn was 3-0. Winning four matches were: 125 Aaron Back, 145 Tyler Cooper, 171 Shane Evans, and 215 Travis Yoakum. Achieving three victories were: 103 Blake Price, 152 Hayden Peterson and 189 Brandon Delaney. Two match winners were: 130 Adam Cunningham, 135 Nathan McTigue and 140 Cory Smith, and winning one for the day was 285 Wesley Everett.

Last week the team competed in a dual meet at Frankfort, coming out on top 70-3. Winning by pins for the Oracles were: 160 Atwood, 189 Delaney, 285 Everett, 112 Floyd, 119 Alderman, 125 Back, 130 Cunningham, and 135 McTigue. Winning by forfeits were: 171 Evans and 103 Price. Cooper won at 145 by a major decision. Winning by decision were 135 Smith and 215 Yoakum.

All the matches at the JV level were all won by pins: Dayton Rummell, Kyle Lashley, Nick Taylor and Casey Penn.

This week, the Oracles competed at West Lafayette on Tuesday and then compete Saturday in the Twin Lakes 16- team invitational.
