Alvin P. Shively Alvin P. Shively, 77, formerly of Rossville, passed away Dec. 9, 2007, at 2:35 a.m. at Milner Community Healthcare Center in Rossville. He had been a resident there for two years and 10 months and had been in failing health the past few months. Mr. Shively was born Dec. 22, 1929, in Clinton County, to Elmer and Mary Yoder Shively. His marriage was to Evelyn L. Wagoner in Tippecanoe County on Feb. 3, 1952, and she survives. Mr. Shively worked at the Edna Mills Carpenter Shop and then for Zinn Kitchen Cabinets in Flora before retiring in 1991. He also owned Rolling Wheels Antiques. He attended Rossville High School and was a member of Middle Fork Old German Baptist Brethren Church in Rossville. Surviving are his wife of Rossville; three daughters, Marilyn Abbott (husband: Bill) of Winter Springs, Fla., and Patty Shively and Vickie Shively, both of Rossville; a son, Donald Shively (wife: Kara) of Rossville; three brothers, Glen Shively (wife: Roberta) of Rossville, Jesse Shively (wife: Shirley) of Franklin and Kenneth Shively (wife: Patty) of LaPorte; five sisters, Marie Baker of Manchester, Elsie Shuck (husband: Warren) of Baldwin City, Kan., Doris Calloway (husband: Glen) of North Manchester, Dorothy Metzger (husband: Daniel) of Mulberry and Leona Skiles (husband: Meredith) of Rossville; two sisters-in-law, Esther Shively of Lafayette and Norma Wagoner of Rossville; four grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; two greatgrandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren. Mr. Shively was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence Shively; a brother-in-law, Keith Wagoner; and a stepgrandson, Mike Cohen. Services are today, Wednesday, at 10 a.m. at Middle Fork Old German Baptist Brethren Church, 650W. CR750N., Rossville. Home brethren will officiate. Burial will be at Middle Fork Church Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Milner Healthcare Center or Parkinson Foundation. Envelopes are available at the church. Abbott Funeral Home in Delphi is in charge of arrangements. |
