Santa to visit Delphi VFW
By Kevin Schnepp Staff writer

Though Christmas is less than two weeks away, the busy Mr. and Mrs. Claus plan to swing by the Delphi VFW on Market St. Dec. 22 from 3 to 5 p.m. to spread even more Christmas cheer.

Children from newborn to seven years old will be able to sit and talk with Santa and his wife and will receive treats and surprises. The event is sponsored by VFW Post 9383 and its men's and women's auxiliaries.

Men's Auxiliary president John Houser said the organizations wanted to provide a fun day for local children.

"This is all about the kids," he said Monday. "We wanted to offer something fun for them close to home. Everything we do, we try to keep it in this town."

VFW employee Kelly Reagan said was excited about the Claus' first visit and hoped many children would come to see them. She added she enjoyed seeing so many people come together to make the event possible.

"It's that time of year when everybody chips in," she said. "It's a tremendous time."
