Yes, this month is the time for us all to remember that it truly is the Season for Sharing- sharing of our many wonderful opportunities and wealth to help those less fortunate.

Your generosity during the coming few weeks can bring much happiness into the lives of those who need it. Donate your time and talents to provide assistance to the hundreds in Carroll County who desperately need your help.

We don't point out any particular organization or group for you to support. Simply be generous in the spirit of giving, which will not only make you feel better through this Christmas season, but through the entire year.

If you're making a holiday gift list, check it twice and be sure to include the "gift of life", a donation of your blood for the ill and injured, suggests the American Red Cross. "During the holiday season, the Red Cross Blood centers traditionally have extra demands for blood," reports the Carroll County Red Cross Chapter. "At the same time everyone is so busy with the holiday preparations that this gentle reminder about the need to make a date to give blood should be noted on all gift lists."

Carl Hand wasted his money when he bought a hunting license. He might just as well leave his gun at home when he goes out for game, if the story his companions are telling is true.

Thursday Hand went out hunting and during the day shot three times, but failed to get a thing. As he returned home a quail flew into a telephone wire and broke its neck. It dropped to the ground at his feet and he picked it up. His dog, Queen, then ran down an opossum and he took it away from her, and as he walked through a field he saw a rabbit sitting perfectly still in a clump of bushes and he picked it up by the ears.

After three ineffectual shots, Carl arrived home with a quail, an opossum and a rabbit.
