Home school Christmas concert approaching

To warm hearts during the holidays, The Master's Voice Singers Home School Choir will perform its annual concert Dec. 6 at 7 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 103 S. Indiana St., in Delphi. This year's concert will have a Christmas theme and will feature a children' choir in two numbers.

The choir is directed by Debbie Glenn and consists of 30 home-schooled youth between the ages of 12 and 19 from 19 area home-schooling families. Membership in the choir is by audition. Mrs. Glenn has taught youth choir for 16 years.

"Some of the songs the choir will be performing this year have brought tears to my eyes in the past," Glenn said. "So I don't mind repeating them for younger siblings."

Songs will include "How Should a King Come" and "In the First Light," and new songs such as "Christmastime," "One King," "Once Upon a Christmas" and "Mary, Did You Know?"

Glenn said although the concert is similar to any well-rehearsed high school choir performance, the choir's stated purpose to "prepare young hearts to use the talents God has given them for His honor and glory" undergirds the show.

"To the members of the choir and their families, this makes all the difference in the world," Glenn added.

The concert is free and open to the public. Contact Glenn at (765) 564-4882 or glenns8@verizon.net, or Margie Haley at (574) 652- 4505 or treeoflife@tds.net for information.
