"Toyland" is the theme for Children's Story Time beginning Dec. 3. Marcia Sledd has fun and educational books, songs, and games for toddlers and kindergartners. Thursday is the day to bring children to the library with Baby Lap Sit at 9:30 a.m., Toddler Time at 10, and Preschool at 11:30.

Stitches Fiber Arts Circle will hold their monthly craft night Dec. 17 at 6:30 p.m. Anyone interested in learning to knit, quilt, crochet, felt or create with fiber, may join. Please bring supplies and a snack to share.

This month's cinema is "Joyeux Noel," a moving and inspirational film that tells the true-life story of Scottish, French and German troops in the trenches of World War I that spontaneously declare a Christmas Eve truce. The movie will be presented Dec. 13 at 7 p.m. The public is encouraged to share in refreshments, discussion and Christmas spirit.

A Christmas Tea will be Dec. 19 at 7 p.m. and will feature brief reviews of selected best book picks of 2007. Guests are asked to bring a few favorite reads and share a brief synopsis of the story. Refreshments and a small gift for each guest will be provided.

Give the gift of reading to your friends and relatives. Persons living in unserved townships do not pay library taxes so they need to purchase their library cards. A wonderful gift idea would be to purchase a library card for family and special friends who otherwise could not afford to use the library. Ask for more information at the circulation desk or call the library, 967-3912.

Do you love to read but can't seem to find time during this busy holiday season? The library has a service made for busy people like you - an email based Online Book Club that delivers books to your computer. Each day, Monday through Friday, the library emails subscribers a portion of a book that takes about five minutes to read. There will be two or three chapters from a book to read during the week. If you like a book then check it out from the library. Each week the club features a new book selection. Sign up for the free service on our website, www.flora.lib.in.us.

The next preschool storytime theme is "Toys." Tis' the season to be thinking about our favorite playthings. Toys and their stories come to life at storytime. Storytime is Tuesday mornings at 10 a.m.
