Tri Kappa

The Associate Chapter of Tri Kappa met for lunch and meeting recently in Delphi. Committee members in charge were Mary Deford and Shirleen Dimmitt.

Discussion was held regarding how project money would be spent.

After the meeting, members assembled in the Presbyterian Church basement to make bows for the American Cancer Society's Love Lights a Tree display.

The December meeting and party will be held at the home of Pat Duff with assistance from Mary Brown and Marjorie Clifford. Members were reminded to bring paper products for Christmas Baskets.

Flora Lions Club

Carroll County Prosecutor Tricia Thompson and Sheriff Tony Burns were guests at the Nov. 20 meeting of the Flora Lions Club. They both gave an update of activities and accomplishments within their respective departments in 2007.

Lions Vice District Governor Charlie Short and his wife, Pat, were also on hand to inform the club on a resurgence within District 25-C of membership growth and the additions of newly chartered Lions clubs. He also gave an update on the statewide Lions projects and asked for continued support in these areas.

Another guest was Jerry L. Reinke. He, along with Lion Tom Kressley, were recognized for being instrumental in the community-wide project that involved the purchase and installation of the new flag pole at Maple Lawn Cemetery.

Past President Susan Shively was awarded the President's Excellence Award for membership growth within the Flora Lions Club during 2006-07.

Plans are underway for the Annual Pete Award Dinner to be held at Rinehart's Barn on Dec. 4. All members, their spouses and past Pete Award recipients are invited to attend. Nominees for this year's Pete Award are now being accepted.

The next regularly scheduled club meeting will be Dec. 18 at 6:30 p.m. at the First Christian Church Fellowship Hall.
