Washington St. in Delphi. Sponsored by Carroll County Focus on the Future, the task force will identify critical issues surrounding Carroll County's historic treasures and develop strategies to address unmet needs. Carroll County Habitat for Humanity invites the public to attend a HOUSE BLESSING CEREMONY for this year's habitat house Dec. 2 at 2:30 p.m. northwest of Camden at 3012W. CR500N. The partner family for this year's home is Cheryl and Kayleigh Morgan. The next meeting of the CARROLL COUNTY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE TOURISM COMMITTEE meeting will be Dec. 11 at 7:30 p.m. at the Flora Library downstair's meeting room. Businesses and organizations, whether or not Chamber members, are welcome to attend to talk about strategies for attracting tourists to the County's historic and recreational sites and events. The screenings test for blocked carotid arteries, abdominal aortic aneurysms, and hardening of the arteries in the legs. Bone density screening is also offered. The LOVE LIGHTS A TREE CEREMONY, sponsored by the American Cancer Society, will begin at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in the Carroll County Courthouse Rotunda at Delphi. A tree is being placed in the rotunda and it will be decorated with colored ribbons, each color depicting a specific type of cancer. Delphi Tri Kappa in cooperation with the Guidance Department at Delphi Community High School will hold a SCHOLARSHIP WORKSHOP for all graduating seniors. Parents are encouraged to attend. The workshop will be held Dec. 5 from 1:10 to 1:40 p.m. in the Little Theatre. Information provided will include scholarships available, requirements of eligibility, application deadlines, and help in preparing forms. VISIT WITH SANTA and SMALL SHOPPERS SPENDING SPREE will be Saturday, Dec. 1, at the Carroll County Courthouse from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Children ages 3 to 9 will be allowed to shop for Christmas presents. Santa's helpers will have special presents priced from $3 to $5. These gifts will be wrapped, tagged, and ready for a child's two favorite adults to open on Christmas Day. Each child is limited to two gifts. Families can bring a camera for pictures with Santa. The event is sponsored by Gamma Alpha chapter of Tri Kappa. DELPHI TRASH PICKUP AND CURBSIDE RECYCLING will occur as regularly scheduled Nov. 29 and 30. City of Delphi Streets Superintendent Aaron Lyons said the city trash removal guide does not show pick-ups scheduled for those dates, but the typical format would be followed. |
