State award
Five secretary awards were presented at the Indiana Association of School Principals Conference Nov. 6 in Carmel. Nominations were received from public and private schools across the state. Renee McIlrath, right, secretary at Carroll Elementary School, received the Leadership Award. She was nominated by the CES assistant principal, Natalie Mc- Quade, pictured left. McIlrath received a plaque and a bracelet. McQuade said she nominated McIlrath because of her hard work, caring nature, and going beyond her job to do things that need to be done. "She has an excellent rapport with students and staff as well as the community," Mc- Quade said. McIlrath has been employed at the school for 21 years and has been a secretary for four years.
