The non-profit organization provides food, income-producing animals and training to poverty-stricken families to help them become self-reliant and care for the earth. Once established, families pass on the gift by giving animals or training to another family in need. Heifer International also provides tree seedlings to communities to help stabilize topsoil, protect groundwater and serve as a source of food, fencing and firewood. |
