Beverly L. Peterson

Beverly L. Peterson, 86, of Delphi, passed away Nov. 12, 2007, at 9:24 p.m. She had resided in the Delphi community for the last 25 years.

She was born Dec. 3, 1920, in Chicago, Ill., to Laurence T. Marson and Marguerite B. Christmann. On Aug. 1, 1946, she married Jonah L. Peterson in Chicago, and he survives.

Mrs. Peterson moved with her husband from Chicago to the Peterson family farm in northern Carroll County over 25 years ago. She attended Hickory Grove Church in rural Carroll County.

She was an Extension Homemaker and enjoyed quilting work. Her biggest interest in life was tending to her family.

Surviving are a son, Erick Peterson (wife: Gail) of Wheaton, Ill.; three daughters, Deborah Shultz (husband: Alan) of Delphi, Nadine Peterson of Glenview, Ill. and Kathleen McDonough (husband: Gregory) of Northfield, Ill.; six grandchildren, Kathryn Haydon (husband: Jeffrey), Carolyn Peterson, Elizabeth Kimball (husband: Jacob), Jeffrey Shultz, Bradford Shultz and Scott McDonough; and two great-grandchildren, Chistopher and Julia.

Mrs. Peterson was preceded in death by a sister, Joan M. McCoy.

Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Miller- Roscka Funeral Home in Monticello. Service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Hickory Grove Church, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Pastor Ken Smith will officiate. Burial will be at Hickory Grove Cemetery, next to the church.
