The 2007 Hoosier Salon Tour is on display in the Gerber Globe Valve Room. Fifteen works from the 83rd annual exhibition "Indiana Art at its Best" will hang through Nov. 26. Works in oil, acrylic, watercolor, and silver point present a wide range of styles as well as subtle-to-electrifying color schemes. The public is invited to tour the show during library hours: Mon.- Thurs., from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.; Fri. 10 to 6; and Sat., 10 to 5.

Fiber artists will meet Nov. 26 for In Stitches. Individuals who enjoy working with yarn, fabric or stitching of any kind are invited to attend. Please bring a work in progress and a snack to share.

Wake up to rich discussion and comforting coffee with the Faith Inspired Book Club Nov. 29 at 9 a.m. The book, "In the Presence of Enemies" by Gracia Burnham, will be discussed. It recounts the true story of the ordeal missionaries Martin and Gracia Burnham endured after they were kidnapped by terrorists in 2001. Multiple copies of the book are available at the main circulation desk.

Basic Spanish classes will be offered Wednesday evenings beginning Nov. 28. Individuals interested in learning conversational Spanish should contact the library for additional information and registration.

Flora-Monroe Township

Introduction to Drawing, a beginning art class taught by Brenda Daly Reid, will be offered on Monday evenings from Nov. 26 through Dec. 10 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Basic skills learned in this class will enable the student to continue with other art courses that will be taught in 2008.

There is a small fee for the course, due no later than the first night of class. Register at the main desk or call the library for more information, 967- 3912.

A new exhibit added to the Art Enrichment first grade displays are clay penguin sculptures. The penguins are in the book sale area of the library. Art Enrichment at Carroll Elementary is taught by Grace Woodruff. The first grade exhibit will be displayed through November.

The library hosts an ongoing book sale on the main level of the library. There are adult's and children's books available at reasonable prices. Proceeds from the sale benefit the Friends of the Library.

The next preschool storytime theme is "Thanksgiving." Turkeys and Thanksgiving are here, time for giving thanks for great stories! Storytime is Tuesday mornings at 10 a.m.
