Delphi Lions Club

Delphi Lions Club met Nov. 7 at the Stone Barn.

Of ten Peace Poster entrants, six were present and treated to dinner. Braden Abbott's poster was chosen as top winner. Second place went to Brittney Wade and third went to Ashley Metzger. Winners received cash prizes and all contestants received Dairy Queen gift certificates.

Fruit orders should be turned in as soon as possible.

The club will sponsor a pancake and sausage breakfast from 7 to 10 a.m. at the Stone Barn on Dec. 1, the morning of the Lions Christmas Parade.

The club received $400 from the sale of recycled cans and steel.

The next meeting will be Nov. 21 at 6:30 p.m. at Stone Barn. Bridge-A-Rama

Bridge-A-Rama high scorers for October were Rita Wingard and Donnabelle Sieber with 3,740 points, Betty Trapp and Anne Briggs with 3,520 and Helen Schilling and Joann Vianco with 3,520.

High scorers in each group were Joan Maxwell and Joyce Murray, Kay Trent and Sue Ann Cornell, Jane Smith and Sieber, Vianco and Mary Kelly, Laura Baker and Sam Watkins, Pat Myer and Ginny Emerson, Smith and Vianco, Wingard and Sieber and Jack Cohee and Robert Crume.

Proceeds from Bridge-ARama support Tri Kappa scholarships.

Double Dozen EH

Double Dozen Extension Homemakers Club met Nov. 6 with Margie Albaugh as hostess.

President Lona Yeakley read the Thought of the Month, and the hostess gave devotions.

Wilma Robeson led in singing the Song of the Month.

Choices for Leader Lessons for the coming year were selected, and plans were made for the annual Christmas dinner and guest night on Dec. 4.

For health and safety, Virginia Marcellino told about the serious nature of diabetes, how to deal with it, and steps which may be taken to avoid its onset.

The lesson, "Preparing For Emergencies, was presented by Elizabeth Mylet, with all members joining in the discussion.

Betty Bell won the prize.

The next regular meeting is Feb. 5, with Wilma Robeson as hostess.

Delphi CWF

The CWF of the Delphi Christian Church met Nov. 6 at the church with Winnie Beard as hostess.

Nine members answered roll call with their favorite household hint.

The ladies will be filling a first aid box that will be sent to the FAME mission. A list of things needed will be at the church. Shoeboxes for the Samaritan's Purse were collected.

Christmas decorating will be done on Saturday, Nov. 24.

Katie Cree gave the lesson on giving to others.

The next meeting will be a carry-in dinner Dec. 4 at the home of Nancy Cripe.
