For holiday side dishes that shine, you'll enjoy incorporating these new dishes to your tested and true stand-bys. Cheesy Asparagus Bake is a special occasion dish that is rich and creamy. Broccoli Casserole is loved by adults and kids alike and is a simple addition to the holiday buffet. Corn and Green Bean Casserole shakes things up a bit and steers clear of the common green bean casserole served on everyone's table. And, finally, make sure you try this version of Potato Casserole. The addition of French onion dip and cornflakes makes for a delicious combination.

Cheesy Asparagus Bake



1 (10.5-oz.) can asparagus spears
1/4 C. red pepper, chopped
1/3 C. mild cheddar cheese, shredded

1/4 C. green onions, sliced
1 egg white, beaten until stiff

Drain asparagus, reserving a few pieces for garnish, if desired. Place remaining asparagus in shallow 1- quart baking dish with red pepper. Combine mayonnaise with cheese and green onions. Fold in egg white. Spread over asparagus. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until heated through. Recipe may be doubled and placed in a 2-quart baking dish.
Broccoli Casserole








2 packages frozen broccoli,
chopped and thawed
2 cans cream of celery soup
2 C. Minute Rice, uncooked
1 (8-oz.) jar Cheez Whiz
3/4 C. celery, chopped
3/4 C. onion, chopped
1 stick margarine, melted

Combine all ingredients and place in buttered baking dish. Bake 1 hour at 325 degrees.
Corn and Green Bean Casserole








1/2 C. shredded Cheddar cheese
3/4 C. onion, chopped
1 C. celery, chopped
1 (8-oz.) carton sour cream
1 can whole kernel corn, drained
1 can French-style green beans,
drained
1 can cream of celery soup
1 stack round buttery crackers
1 stick margarine

Combine all ingredients except crackers and margarine. Mix well and place in buttered casserole dish. Crumble crackers and sprinkle over casserole. Slice margarine and place on top. Bake at 325 degrees for about 25 minutes.
Potato Casserole








2 lb package hash browns, thawed
1 can cream of chicken soup
1 (8-oz.) carton French onion dip
1 (8-oz.) carton sour cream
1 (10-oz.) pkg. extra sharp cheddar
cheese, grated
salt and pepper to taste
2 C. cornflakes, crushed
1/4 C. margarine, melted

Mix together first six ingredients and place in a 9x13 baking dish. Top with mixture of cornflakes and melted margarine. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 45 minutes.
