Ground was broken recently on a 16-foot addition to the back of the Scout Cabin at Flora Community Park. Improvements to the Cabin will include a small kitchen, utility room,ADA accessible bathroom, and Scoutmaster office/storage room.

The project is being overseen by Flora Rotary Club.

The present building has no plumbing, only electricity and a very old furnace.

Residents continuing to use Pittsburg Spring as a source of drinking water should reconsider their action. Carroll County Health Department closed the spring last July. With the assistance of the Highway Department, a warning sign was posted and a cap was placed over the spring's pipe yet use of the spring continues. Water sample tests still indicate presence of total coliform, bacteria.

Friday night the Camden varsity will oppose the Oracles. Camden has been going like a house afire in the two games played thus far and the general opinion in the neighboring village is that they have the best team that has represented them for a number of years. The more enthusiastic say it is the best teamthat they have ever had and is one that will give a world of trouble in the coming sectional. They are larger than usual, are fast, shifty, and can hit with the best of them. Furthermore they are full of confidence which is a necessary attribute of a good team.
