Classes offered at Frankfort's Learning Network

The Learning Network at 1111 S. Jackson St. in Frankfort has several class offerings available. They include:

Indiana High School Online - Mondays and Thursdays, 3:30-5:30 p.m. Indiana University High School (IUHS) allows students to choose from more than 100 courses that count toward an accredited high school diploma. Students meet at Purdue Extension's Learning Network every week as they work with licensed high-school teachers as facilitators. Partner agency, Community Action Program (CAP), can provide scholarships to qualifying students.

Microsoft Access Series - Tuesdays, Nov. 6-27, from 5:30-7 p.m. This beginner class will introduce the student to commonly used features in this database program, including: how to create tables, forms, and reports; how to query data; and much more.

Cooking Class: Second in the Series! - Monday, Nov. 12, 7-8:30 p.m. Glenda Frey starts with tasty, simple recipes for gifts from your kitchen, and Maxine includes creative packaging ideas.

FREE! eBay Class - Monday, Nov. 19, from 5-7 p.m. Learn to be a confident eBay buyer and seller.

Contemporary Guitar Workshop - OPEN HOUSE! Thursday, Dec. 6, from 6-8 p.m. You're invited to meet instructor Michael Tribble and discover what he's planning to offer during his 12-week, all-inclusive workshop that begins in January.

Beginning Conversational Spanish - Mondays, Jan. 7-Feb. 25, 6-8 p.m. Learn practical vocabulary (for workplace and home), understand Spanish pronunciation, discover sentencemaking verb strategies. By the end of the 8 weeks, you'll be able to accomplish the following goals in Spanish: meet and greet, describe yourself/your feelings, tell time, talk about the weather, use colors and numbers, and put words together to speak in simple sentences.

Kids Spanish Classes: New Semester Starts Jan. 8 - Preschool: Tuesdays, 2:30-3:30 p.m. Grades 1-3: Tuesdays, 4-5 p.m. Grades 4-8: Thursdays, 4- 5 p.m. Kids learn how to ask/answer 14 basic questions in Spanish, read/write words in Spanish, recognize Spanish alphabet/ colors/shapes/number, say the days of the week/months of year/seasons, identify people/places in the neighborhood, meet and greet others, and give/receive directions.
