A most significant moment in time

By the time next week's Comet hits the stands, residents of local cities and towns will know who will be serving them on town councils and boards and who will be the next mayor of Delphi. We will hold the printing of the paper on election night to be able to announce those choices to you first thing Wednesday morning.

The Comet urges every eligible voter in cities and towns elections to determine which candidate it is they want to provide those services and then get out and cast votes for them.

It doesn't matter if you are Democrat or Republican, black or white or short or tall. What matters is that you exercise the right afforded to you as a citizen of the United States to make those choices. It is one of those things that sets our nation apart from many others. It is worth preserving.

Do not squander the opportunity to let your voice be heard. Do not ignore the responsibility you have to help shape your destiny. Do not forget that every action counts. And it counts forever. This will be the only time in history you will be able to participate in this particular election. The opportunity to voice your choice in this election will be gone before you know it. It will be gone by the time the next Comet is published.

Do not minimize the importance of this significant moment in time.
