Richard L. Long

Richard Lee Long, 64, Middlefork, died at 3:30 a.m. Mon., Oct. 29, 2007, at his home.

Born April 20, 1943, in Logansport, he was the son of Verlin Lee and Elizabeth Snell Long. He graduated from Burlington High School in 1961. On Aug. 30, 1969, in Burlington, he married Jane Ann Davis, and she survives.

Mr. Long was a farmer and owner/operator of Wildcat Farm Service. He worked at Kaiser Agriculture/Chemical, Middlefork, retiring in 1995.

He was an honorary life member of the Kiwanis Club and a member of the Carroll County Antique Tractor & Machinery Club.

He was a former member of the Burlington United Methodist Church.

He enjoyed farming, animals, tractor pulls, and hunting.

Surviving with his wife are a daughter, Krista Kay Morris (companion: Richard K. Kingery) of Frankfort; a son, Kirk Alan Long (wife: Heidi) of Frankfort; a sister, Jane Ann LeVee of Kokomo; and six grandchildren, Austin, Camden, Taylor, Shelby, Autum and Kileigh, and expecting a seventh grandchild.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Neptune Funeral Home, Burlington. Pastor Dan Butcher will officiate. Entombment will be at Sunset Memory Gardens, Kokomo. Calling will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today, Wednesday, at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Shiloh Children's Home, in care of Crossroads Community Christian Church.
