Samuel M. Kemp
He was born Feb. 17, 1971, in Jacksonville, Fla., to William C. Kemp and Mylinda Randolph Shirley, both of whom survive. His marriage was to Angela M. Windell at their home on June 9, 1995, and she survives. Mr. Kemp was a 1989 graduate of Frontier High School. He worked at U.S. Aggregates in Delphi for 16 years, and had been assistant quarry superintendent since 1999. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, coaching his son's baseball team, woodworking, and any outdoor activity. Surviving are four children, Braden Kemp and step-daughter Shawneci Kemp, both at home, and Cassie Kemp and S. Tyler Kemp, both of Winamac; his father, William Kemp (wife: Sharon) of Newtown; his mother, Mylinda Shirley (husband: Robert) of Delphi; a sister, Shannon Sylvester (husband: Scott) of Avon; his maternal grandfather, Samuel "CJ" Randolph of Brookston; three step-sisters, Christie Reitz (husband: Matt) of Veedersburg, Melissa Fuller of West Lafayette and Jennifer Stone (husband: Mike) of Boise, Idaho; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Friends may call Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Abbott Funeral Home in Delphi. Services will be held there Friday at 2 p.m. and will be officiated by the Rev. Dale Larson. Burial will be at Masonic Cemetery, Delphi. Sam truly loved his wife, children, parents, sister, and all of his extended family, coworkers and friends. |
