Remodeling at the Delphi Post Office has given thewindowarea and postal work station a bright, new look.

The new service area is more open and customer friendly, with two largewindows instead of one small window, and plenty of customer space.

Postmaster tom Van Sickle said the remodeling also has given postal workers and expanded and more convenient work area.

Van Sickle said he Delphi office now has the latest in computer work stations.

Van Sickle reminds the public that the U.S. Postal Service pays the cost of remodeling, not taxpayers.

25 YEARS AGO

Because of the recent outbreak of malicious tampering with Tylenol and other consumer products, MayorWayneVan Sickle is very concerned about the safety of the children in theDelphi community who will be going doorto door on the proposed "Trick or Treat" night.

Themayor is urging all parents to have their children go only to the homes of relatives and personal friends and to not allow them to go door-to-door.

He is also asking parents to inspect all "treats" collected by the children before allowing them to eat them.

The mayor also suggests that an adult accompany the children at all timeswhile thy are "trick or treating."

50 YEARS AGO

Using business methods modern as tomorrow, The Chemco Sales Company is a fast growing concern of which Delphi can be proud. An example of the progressiveness of the company is the fact that it owns and operates three airplanes. All of the personnel who organized and are presently associated with the company are rated pilots. Most of the business trips are accomplished by air, in some cases, products of the company being delivered by plane. This endorsement of air travel, coincides with uses of the company's products which aare all applicable to use on or in airplanes.

75 YEARS AGO

Friday night Rockfield and Carrollton will open the basketball season officially in Carroll county. So it's not long until this branch of activity will be in the foreground.

The Carroll county Red Cross organization received a large shipment of beautiful cotton dress and shirt materials and these will be distributed at once to the trustees of each township for distribution. More material will be received later. Carroll countywill receive altogether 6,000 yards of this material furnished by the United States government and national Red Cross society.

100 YEARS AGO

Next Tuesday afternoon the Flora Bringhurst Unions will make their last appearance of the seasonwhen they cross bats in an exhibition game with the Southpaws, a good team made up entirely of left-handed men.

Each player, the umpire, scoreman, gate keepers and all rooters will be charged 25 cents. This game will be a benefit game for the Union baseball team to assist in meeting all its honest obligations of debt.

The schools at Cutler which were closed on account of scarlet fever, are open again.
