Cougars fizzle, let Vikings win

      The Carroll Cougars finished regular season with a lot of questions needing answered. One was how can you have a 14-point lead going into the fourth quarter, and let the Vikings of North White score 17 unanswered points in the final quarter?

'Kid Rocket'
      Thomas Piotrowski of Flora won second place in the Indiana State Dirt Championship Race in Crawfordsville. He competed in the Rookie Class, ages 5 to 8. The championship race was 15 laps.

Delphi blue after loss

      Tipton came to town on Senior Night and completely dominated the game from start to end. Playing their fifth team of the season ranked in the top ten or receiving votes for the top ten, the Delphi Oracles will prepare for the sectional following a 49-0 loss to the Tipton Blue Devils.

Carroll earns share of HHC title
      In a re-scheduled match between Carroll and Central Catholic, Carroll earned a share of the Hoosier Heartland Conference title by beating Central Catholic 3-2. It is the first time since 1993 that Carroll has owned part of the conference title.

League and tourney champs
      Flora's fall 8-and-under baseball team went undefeated in the Russiaville Fall Baseball League. Flora competed with Burlington, Michigantown, and Russiaville teams for the past few weekends.

Delphi JV 12, Carroll 6
      Nathan McTigue ran the Oracles to a winning season last week, defeating Carroll 12-6. McTigue caught two Tanner Cripe passes of 40 and 25 yards to outscore the Cougars. The Cougars pushed in a TD in the end to make it a 12-6 finish.

Spring travel soccer
      Boys and girls ages 10 to 18 who are interested in participating on spring travel soccer teams are asked to attend one of two scrimmages. The scrimmages will be held Oct. 23 and 24 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Flora Community Park soccer field.
