Robert J. Cunningham

Robert J. Cunningham, 83, of Avon, died Oct. 3, 2007.

He was born Feb. 22, 1924, in Cutler to Charles and Cynthia Plank Cunningham.

A U.S. Army veteran of World War II, he served in the 457th Parachute Field Artillery, 11th Airborne, in New Guinea.

Mr. Cunningham worked at Harrison Steel Castings of Culver for 11 years, retiring in 1979.

Surviving are his wife, Margaret Cunningham; a son, David Cunningham; three daughters, Diane Kelly, Debbie Stevens and Karen Sisson; three stepchildren, Gayle Reese, Stephen Michael and Mark Michael; two sisters, Jane Fisher and Connie Robeson; 17 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Services were Oct. 8 at Boswell.
