Deer Creek Presbyterian Church will hear a pastor nominee, Rev. Rob Harrison, at the Sunday worship service that begins at 10 a.m. There will be a congregational meeting afterwards. All members are encouraged to attend.

The ACDC annual meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Oct. 22. Officer/board members will vote on new board members. Incumbent chairperson is Lois Wallace (chair since 2004). The other candidate for chairperson is Kathie Dymek, administrator at Deer Creek Presbyterian Church. The incumbent treasurer is Jo Upton, who is unopposed.

Deer Creek Community Center will have a Ham Loaf Supper Nov. 6 from 4:w30 to 7 p.m. Pre-orders for frozen ham loafs will be taken until Oct. 29 by Dot Fulton, 859-2385, or Bonnie Taylor, 859-3363,

The members of Faith Lutheran Church again surprised their pastors with a carry-in dinner and visit from Bishop Stuck of Indianapolis, who delivered the sermon to honor Pastor Sandy Hutchens for 20 years of service and Pastor Tom McShannock for 30 years.

The pastors at Faith have invited young and old alike to an All-Hallow Eve Party in their bar at 6 p.m. Oct. 28. There will be a wiener roast and s'mores. Those attending are asked to bring snacks and drinks to share. The Jr./Sr. Youth Group is helping to sponsor the event.
