The American Red Cross will host a BLOOD DRIVE Oct. 25 from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in Honan Hall at the corner of Monroe and Union streets in Delphi.All presenting donors will receive a tee shirt. Call (800) GIVE-LIFE for information or to schedule a blood donation appointment.

FREE G.E.D. CLASSES are offered each Tuesday and Wednesday from 6:30 to 9 p.m. in room AA4 at Delphi Community High School. Students may join the class anytime during the school year. DELPHI MAIN STREET will hold its first ANNUAL MEETING Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. at the Delphi Public Library downstairs meeting room.Anyone interested in the revitalization of the historic commercial district is urged to attend.

WATER SUPPLIES AND RESTROOMS at Delphi parks will be SHUT OFF for the winter after this coming weekend. The parks will remain open, but visitors should plan ahead for those needs. Call parks superintendent Dick Farrer at (765) 564-0152 for information.

PREVENT CHILD ABUSE CARROLL COUNTY will hold a 2008 planning session at the Oct. 18 monthly meeting which will be held at the Flora Community Center at 7 p.m. Issues to be addressed include by-law revisions, board of directors and mailing list development and designing 2008 program activities. Members are urged to attend, roll up their collective sleeves and help plan for the future of the organization. For information, contact Debbie at (765) 491-8515.

TRICK-OR-TREATING around the county will be on Halloween night, Oct. 31. Hours for Flora, Burlington, Camden, and Delphi will be 6- 8 p.m.

Extension Homemakers will host a HOLIDAY WORKSHOP Oct. 30 in the 4-H Building in Flora. Registration begins at 8:45 a.m., and demonstrations will start at 9. Demonstrations will include "How to Care forYour Holiday Plants," "Floral Centerpiece Arrangement," and "Recycle Canvas Bags and Cotton Tshirts." "Make It and Take It" sessions will include a holiday wreath, table runner, snowman ornament, gift bags, starshaped ornament/pin, and scrapbooking Christmas card. Christmas trees decorated by Extension Homemakers Clubs will be on display. Pre-registration is required by Oct. 22 for the "Make It and Take It." Carroll County YMCA is sponsoring a LIFT-A-THON for ages 14 and older on Saturday, Oct. 27. Three competition categories will be held: Best Bench, Best Squat, Dead Lift. For more information, contact the YMCA at 574-967-4449.
