Temperance Union convention this weekend The 134th meeting of the Women's Christian Temperance Union of Indiana will be Oct. 13 atMarion Tabernacle inMarion. The first session will begin at 9 a.m. and the second at 1 p.m. State union president Reverend Mary Ann Freeman of Marion will preside over the convention. Morning session will include a lively singspiration, devotions, meeting minutes, updates on new literature for sale, treasurer's report, flag salutes and roll call. Newsletter editor LeVaughn Strong of Rossville and circulation manager Betty Montgomery of Marion will summarize their year of work. Department reports and awards will also be presented. Special morning session speaker will be Albert Craig, men's program director at Grant County Rescue Mission, who will share his personal story of the harmful effect of alcohol and drugs. The afternoon session will include an annual address and challenge from the state union president. A memorial service will be observed and installation of officers will be held prior to benediction. |
