Ruth B. Howell

Ruth B. Howell, of Lafayette, formerly of Delphi, died Oct. 4, 2007, at 7:10 p.m. at Regency Place in Lafayette.

She was born in Fulton County to Frank M. and Delphena Crest Brewer. Her marriage was to Noland B. Howell on Dec. 23, 1926 in Chicago, and he preceded her in death in 1972.

Mrs. Howell retired as a housemother at Purdue University in 1996. She was a member of Delphi Presbyterian Church and Delphi American Legion Ladies' Auxiliary.

Surviving are a daughter, Peggy Wells of West Lafayette; a sister, Patricia Benjamin of Florida; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Howell was preceded in death by two sisters, Lorene Clawson and Francis Marie Brewer, and a brother, George Brewer.

Services were held Oct. 8 at Davidson Funeral Home in Delphi, officiated by Pastor Louis Sandos. Burial was at Masonic Cemtery.
