Dorothy E. Jones

Dorothy E. McHardie Jones, 87, of Rockfield, passed away Oct. 6, 2007, at 10:18 a.m. in Lafayette Home Hospital. She had been ill since the previous Wednesday.

Mrs. Jones was born Feb. 23, 1920, in Carroll County, to Hansel and Joan Murphy McHardie. She attended Delphi High School. Her marriage was to Robert L. Jones in Delphi in July 1973, and he preceded her in death March 3, 1998.

Mrs. Jones worked at the former R.B.M. manufacturing plant in Logansport as an inspector for over 30 years, and retired in the mid-1980s.

She was a member of Rockfield Presbyterian Church.

She also participated in Extension Homemakers Club and enjoyed music, playing the violin, euchre card games, crochet, baking and crossword puzzles, and was an avid bowler. She also enjoyed watching her grandchildren's sporting events.

Surviving are a daughter, Marilyn Rouhier of Delphi; a son, Jerry Fincher (wife: Lou) of Logansport; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by a sister.

A graveside service will be held today, Wednesday, at 6 p.m. at Rockfield I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Pastor Paul Marcellino will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Elizabeth Healthcare Resident Fund. Envelopes may be sent to Abbott Funeral Home, 421 E. Main St., Delphi, IN, 46923, which was in charge of arrangements.
