Students from Carroll County named to the dean's list at Ivy Tech Community College for the summer semester include: BRITTNEY MORGAN MCDONALD, JANET L. SPARGER, AMBER R. CLARK and JENNA D. STONE.

MORGAN MYERS of Lafayette was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree in liberal arts during a commencement ceremony held recently at Purdue University.

LEANNA K. SMITH was one of 300 students of the College of Sciences and Humanities at Ball State University recognized by Dean Michael Maggiotto on Sept. 29.

The Dean's Honor List Reception was held in Ball Gymnasium for outstanding students who maintained a 3.5 GPA or higher throughout the 2006-2007 school year.

Smith is a sophomore at Ball State and is a secondary mathematical sciences major. She is employed on campus as a secretary for the Center for Organizational Resources in the School of Extended Education.

She is a member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha sorority and served as homecoming chairperson for the 2007-2008 school year. She also enjoys volunteering with the Boys and Girls Club of Muncie.

Smith is a 2006 graduate of Carroll High School and the daughter of Robert and Bunti Smith of Deer Creek.
