It was so good the first time They're doing it again!
But organizer Kyle Germond made a promise to those who were disappointed that day. He said he would bring the aviation-related event back to the airport in the fall, and Germond is making good on his promise this Saturday. He said he would bring back some very unique aviation experiences for the community to enjoy. Beginning at 8 a.m., a helicopter from the Goshen Flight Service will offer rides at the airport. Glider rides will begin at 10 that morning, a hot air balloon will make an appearance as will members of Air Indiana Skydiving based at the Flora Airport. "I want to support aviation and get the community interested in it," private pilot Germond told the Comet Sunday. "I promised the people we turned away in June that we'd do it again in the fall." To add to the enjoyment of the day, a local church youth group will provide refreshments at the airport and the Delphi City Trolley will be making rounds from downtown to the new bridge at the canal on Bicycle Bridge Road, to the airport and back. Two portable sawmills will be engaged to build a deck for the bridge that day. "I just want everyone in the community to come out, learn about aviation and have a good time," Germond concluded. "The airport is an important resource for the city and the community." |
