Cleo P. Rodgers

Cleo Pete Rodgers, 95, of Delphi, passed away Sept. 28, 2007, at 2 p.m. in Home Hospital, Lafayette.

He was born Aug. 17, 1921, in White County to Harvey and Martha Stillwell Rodgers. He married Sylvia Swayze on June 22, 1935, in Royal Center. They were married for 72 years.

Mr. Rodgers retired as chief engineer for American Aggregate. He farmed for over 36 years in Adams Township. He had worked previously at the State Highway Garage as a mechanic for eight years and the Carroll County Highway Garage for four years.

Mr. Rodgers was active in the First Presbyterian Church of Delphi. He enjoyed fishing, boating, outdoor activities and feeding the squirrels, birds and other wildlife.

Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Phyllis Dyer of Stockwell, Carolyn Coble (husband: John D.) of Delphi and Joyce Miller of Galveston; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Mr. Rodgers was preceded in death by six brothers, three sisters, two sons-in-law, George Dyer and Dennis Miller, and two grandsons, Mark Miller and Thomas Dyer.

Services were Oct. 1 at Davidson Funeral Home in Delphi, officiated by Pastor Louis Sandos. Burial was at Indian Creek Cemetery in Pulaski County.
