Announcements CARROLL COUNTY CANCER ASSOCIATION will meet Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. in the Gerber-Globe Valve room at the Delphi Public Library. Purdue University senior Julie Chaney will speak on regulating cell cycle and how research is necessary to understand how cancer develops. The public is welcome to attend. White-Carroll County Women, Infants and Children (WIC) program will sponsor a CAR SEAT CLINIC Oct. 12 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Delphi Public Library. Car seat technician Sharon Hartwell will lead the program. Refreshments and a chance to win a free car seat will be offered. Carroll County Focus on the Future HISTORIC RESOURCES MEETING will be Oct. 10 at the Canal Interpretive Center at 7 p.m. Everyone interested in preserving the county's history is urged to attend. CARROLL COUNTY NURSES ASSOCIATION will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the Cutler Presbyterian Church. Speaker will be Gail Ladd, a nutritionist.All RNs, LPNs and student nurses are welcome to attend. The Industrial Federal Credit Union, is sponsoring a COMMUNITY HARVEST to benefit Food Finders Food Bank. Non-perishable food donations may be dropped off at IFCU or the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce office in Delphi and other designated locations (watch for signage in windows). Carroll County benefits from Food Finders Food Bank. Carroll School Corporation's annual FALLFORUM will be Oct. 9 at 6:30 p.m. at the Deer Creek Community Center. Parents can learn what's happening at their children's school and ask questions from a panel comprised of the superintendent and the principals and assistant principals at both schools. The 40th ANNUAL DINNER for the CARROLL COUNTY HISTORICAL SOCIETY will be Oct. 11 at 6:30 p.m. at the Bringhurst United Methodist Church. Guest Speaker will be Dick Bradshaw, relating the history of Delphi Body Works. Reservations have to be in by Oct. 6. Call Phyllis Moore at the Carroll County Historical Museum, 765-564-3152, or mail a check for $10 per person to the museum at P.O. Box 277, Delphi. Flora and Delphi HOMEMAKERS CLUBS will meet to learn about the importance of vegetables. Flora Homemakers will meet Oct. 11 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the 4-H Building in Flora. Delphi Homemakers will meet Oct. 16 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church in Delphi. CARROLL COUNTY ANTIQUE TRACTOR CLUB will have a plow day on Oct. 6 and 7. Times will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 5 on Sunday. Location is the Meredith Ayres farm, 1 3/4 miles south of State Road 18 on State Road 75. |
