Carroll is prepared for cross country realignment

At the beginning of the season both Carroll cross country teams set their goals very high. Talk of getting both teams to qualify for the semi-state was at the top of their list.

Coach Mike Miller's newest editions of Cougar harriers have been working extremely hard to accomplish that feat. This has been made more of a challenge by the newest IHSAA tourney realignment.

The Cougars will start their journey in the tourney by traveling to the Tippecanoe Amphitheater in early October. This used to be the site for the regional. Now it is their sectional. They will have to finish in the top five teams in order to advance to the regional. All the Lafayette schools participate in this sectional, as well as all the Hoosier Heartland Conference schools (minus Tri Central), Frankfort and North Montgomery.

"Our Cougars are ready for this challenge," said Miller. "We knew this was coming, so we have been preparing and getting ready. My runners have been working hard but they know that it takes more than hard work, it takes a lot of heart."
