Announcements The American Red Cross will host a BLOOD DRIVE Oct. 25 from 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Honan Hall, at the intersection of Monroe and Union streets, in Delphi. All donors will receive a tee-shirt. Donors must be at least 17 years of age, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds, be in general good health and present positive identification. Call (800) 448-3543 for information or to schedule a blood donation appointment. CARROLL COUNTY ANTIQUE TRACTOR CLUB will have a plow day on Oct. 6 and 7. Times will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 5 on Sunday. Location is the Meredith Ayres farm, 1 3/4 miles south of State Road 18 on State Road 75. BATTLE OF THE BANDS is set for Friday, Oct. 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Carroll County YMCA in Flora. Area youth, teens, and adults will perform, vying for the title "Top Carroll County Band." A COMMUNITY WORK DAY is set for 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at the Stearns bridge site behind Pizza Hut and Dairy Queen in Delphi. This will be "decking day." At least one portable sawmill will be on site for sawing white oak logs into planks for the decking. Volunteers should wear gloves, hard toe shoes, and work clothing, and bring a hammer and possibly an electric drill. Workers can help in pre-drilling the planks to receive the spikes and in carrying the decking to the bridge. Other workday activities, in Canal Park, will include flowerbed renovation, trail cleanup, and maintenance work. Alist of varied jobs will be available at the volunteer signup station. A free lunch for volunteers will be provided by Psi Iota Xi sorority in Canal Park at noon. LIFE AROUND ROSSVILLE SCHOOLS (LARS) will meet Tuesday, Oct. 2, at noon at the MCL Cafeteria in West Lafayette. Rossville alumni and friends are welcome.
