Kilmer chosen for Crawfordsville Art Exhibit

Carroll County artist Debbie Kilmer will show two pieces of work at the Crawfordsville Art League's 6th juried art exhibit in downtown store windows Sept. 28 through Oct. 7. On display will be the Delphi artist's two pieces of fiber art called "Inferno" and "Wind Flowers."

The artist is one of 65 artisans whose work has been selected by judges Kevin O'Brien from the Louisville, Ky., Museum of Art & Craft and Jan Shupert-Arick from Arts United of Fort Wayne. For ten days, 123 pieces by 65 west central Indiana artists will fill business windows during the gallery of art.

Free tour brochures will be available at the exhibit headquarters inside National City bank where purchases can be made and voting will choose the Comcast Popular Choice award.

Extra displays include one devoted to the art of Alaska and one showing work by honorary member (the late) Lee Detchon. The League's recently honored graduating high school seniors will show their artwork in a special window. Elementary school art will also be highlighted; Jan Sieferman is the school art judge.

The public is invited to visit downtown Crawfordsville to view productivity from Benton, Boone, Carroll, Clinton, Fountain, Montgomery, Parke, Putnam, Tippecanoe, Warren and White counties.
