Light theNightWalk celebrates Leukemia & Lymphoma AwarenessMonth The Indiana Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is recruiting walkers for the annual Greater Lafayette Area Light The Night Walk to raise money to research blood cancer cures. The Light the Night Walk will take place at 5 p.m. Sept. 27 at Riehle Plaza in downtown Lafayette. A pre-walk celebration includes refreshments and family festivities. The Indiana Chapter's six statewide Light The Night walks raised more than $697,000 in 2006, which allowed the Society to provide financial aid, family support groups, patient education, and information and referrals for nearly 1,400 Indiana patients. This year's goal is $838,452. The 2007 Honored Hero is Cody Green. Cody is sevem years old and was diagnosed with Leukemia in 2001. He is a second grader at Rossville Elementary School and is currently undergoing treatment. Everyone is invited to participate. Walkers raising $100 or more will receive an official T-shirt and illuminated balloon.
