Lady Cougars win own invite; boys finish 2nd The Carroll High School cross country teams fared well at the nine-team Carroll Invitational held last week. The boys finished second to Western. The girls won their race by outlasting Western and Winamac. Pacing the girls were the individual champion, Ashley Bordner, followed by Lauren Wilkinson and Abby Reinke (6th and 7th respectively). "The girls had already lost to Western twice this season," said Coach Mike Miller. "We didn't want to make it three. The girls really worked hard in a strong westerly wind to stay in a pack." The boys placed 2nd and were led by senior Sean Smith's 8th overall finish. "The boys also have been preached to about staying close," said Miller. "I'm proud of both my teams." The boys ran their overall record to 44-7. The girls now own a 48-4 record. |
