Garrison wins sectional; team sets record
Carroll junior Megan Garrison won the Lafayette Jeff Girls Golf Sectional on Saturday with a 5 over par 80. Her closest competitor was at 84. For the third year in a row, she advances to the Lafayette regional to be played at the Lafayette Municipal Golf Course. As a team, Carroll girls competed well, finishing fifth out of 11 teams. The Cougars finished with a new 18-hole team record of 379, missing advancing to the regional by five strokes. After the first nine holes, Carroll was only two strokes out of first place. Other Carroll scores were Krystal Brazel 90, Taylor Sproul 100, Malena Zook 109 and Aurora Shands 112. Carroll concluded an excellent year with a regular season record of 11-4 and an overall record including invitationals of 27-16. They also were the champions of the Eastern Invitational.
